What I haved learned about groupwork.

This group project experience has reaffirmed my prior notions about working in teams. I do not work as well in teams as I do as an individual. I seem to do better when I have my own responsibilities and no one to blame but myself. I have had multiple miscommunication problems with my group that were my fault. Because of my lack of understanding and my lack of scheduling, problems were bound to occur. But when these problems happen, having a group can be your clutch, as well has your butcher. I missed a couple meetings in a row unintentionally and missed out on the planning. This did not stop the advancement of the project, only my portion of the responsibilities. I then had the hardest time trying to get hold of members to get the update on decisions.
The most successful aspect of this project was finally being able to understand what work my group needed and had not yet assigned. I was then able to go on my own and work on my own terms to get my portion completed.
What I like best about my group is their dedication to completing the work. No one ever really likes to have to work and rely on others but they did it anyways.
In phase two I would like to sit down in one of the early days of the assignment and explicitly split up all the work so people know their duties and sort of have a contract with the others. This would prevent the worries of other members in the group as long as they can document their portions completion in the end, no one member such as myself could bring them down. Then in the end get together and place the individual parts that are totally completed to make the project.
